I’m New

We Are:

Living Hope Church is a loving fellowship of believers in Jesus who are committed to sharing the living hope of His love with each other and with the world.  We are part of the Christian & Missionary Alliance; a Christ-centered movement focused on reaching all people everywhere with the good news of Jesus as Savior, Sanctifier, Healer, and Coming King.

We Value:

As those who seeking to live our lives as committed followers of Jesus Christ, there are a number of things upon which we place great value.  Some of these are:

1)  Jesus Christ:  We value Jesus Christ as the Head of this church and the Lord and Savior of each of our lives.

2)  Scripture:  We value the Word of God as the rule for faith and practice in all things.

3)  The Church:   We value the universal Church and every local church that represents the larger Body.

4)  The Great Commission:  We value making disciples of all peoples in obedience to Christ’s command.

5)  Empowerment by the Spirit:  We value total dependence on God demonstrated by praying first and praying always for divine appointment and power.

6)  Christ-Like Love:  We value living out Christ’s love toward all people; recognizing that we love because He first loved us.

7)  Authenticity:  We value authenticity and freedom from hypocrisy as we live our faith and interact with others.

We Believe:

Our beliefs are in accord with those of Bible-believing Christians everywhere.  They center around Jesus Christ as God’s Son and adherence to the Bible as the inspired Word of God. We maintain a “big tent” stance with regard to many less central doctrinal matters, encouraging Christian believers of diverse backgrounds and theological traditions to unite in an alliance to know and exalt Christ and to complete His Great Commission.  The essence of our beliefs are as follows:

The Bible:  The Old and New Testaments comprise the Holy Scriptures.  They are inerrant as originally given, were verbally inspired by God and are a complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men.  They constitute the divine and only rule of Christian faith and practice.

God:  There is one God who is infinitely perfect, existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Man:  Man was originally created in the image and likeness of God.  He fell through disobedience, incurring thereby both physical and spiritual death.  All men are born with a sinful nature, are separated from the life of God, and can be saved only through the atoning work of the Lord Jesus Christ.  The portion of the unrepentant and unbelieving is existence forever in conscious torment; and that of the believer, in everlasting joy and bliss.

Jesus Christ:  Jesus Christ is the true God and the true man.  He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.  He died upon the cross, the Just for the unjust, as a substitutionary sacrifice; and all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood.  He arose from the dead, according to the Scriptures.  He is now at the right hand of Majesty on high as our great High Priest.  He will come again to establish His kingdom, righteousness and peace.

Salvation:  Salvation has been provided through Jesus Christ for all men; and those who repent and believe in Him are born again of the Holy Spirit, receive the gift of eternal life, and become children of God.

The Holy Spirit:  The Holy Spirit is a divine person sent to dwell, guide, teach and empower the believer, as well as convince the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment.

Sanctification:  It is the will of God that each believer should be filled with the Holy Spirit and be sanctified wholly, being separated from sin and the world, and fully dedicated to the will of God; thereby receiving power for holy living and effective service.  This is both a crisis and a progressive experience wrought in the life of the believer subsequent to conversion.

Healing:  Provision is made in the redemptive work of the Lord Jesus Christ for the healing of the mortal body.  Prayer for the sick and anointing with oil are taught in the Scriptures, and are privileges for the Church in this present age.

The Church:  The Church consists of all those who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, are redeemed through His blood, and are born again of the Holy Spirit.  Christ is the Head of the Body, the Church, which has been commissioned by Him to go into all the world as a witness, preaching the Gospel to all nations.  The local church is a body of believers in Christ who are joined together for the worship of God, for edification through the Word of God, for prayer, fellowship, the proclamation of the Gospel, and the observance of the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

The Resurrection:  There will be a bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust; for the former, a resurrection unto life; for the latter, a resurrection unto judgment.

The Second Coming:  The second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is imminent; and will be personal, visible and premillennial.  This is the believer’s blessed hope and is a vital truth which is an incentive to holy living and faithful service.

  1. Hi I’m new to churches around Huntsville. Looking for something closer because I have so many money issues. I’m looking for a place to live before I get kicked out very soon. I’m trying to find a job right now. Do you know any places that might help with rent. Thanks

    1. Monica – the Huntsville Assistance Program helps people with rent. Their number is 256-539-2320. Address is 1001 Monroe St.

  2. This lady came to the church for help, and the church showed her to the government. Wow. This is why people are leaving the church system to actually search for JESUS.

    1. HAP is NOT a government organization and is one that our church provides monetary support to. They specialize in helping people who are in need. Our small church is incredibly generous and has helped out many people in our community.
